SJWS Employee of the Month

The St. John West Shore Hospital Employee of the Month was developed as part of the 25th Anniversary year celebration. At the end of the year, one person will receive the St. John of God Award. Nominees must exhibit the hospital’s core values in their jobs. The core values are: compassion, courage, respect, justice and collaboration.

2008
March 2008 Employee of the Month

Sue Ramsey is the SJWS March Employee of the Month!

Sue Ramsey works in the Nutritional Services Department and has been with SJWS since, 1981!

Sue was nominated for Employee of the Month from a co-worker who says that Sue demonstrates compassion with her “daily commitment to exceeding expectations of others whether they are peers, customers, or other staff she supervises. She shares good relationships on a “personal caring” level with all employees.”

February 2008 Employee of the Month

Larry Ambrose is the SJWS February Employee of the Month!

Larry has been with SJWS since December, 1996 and works in the Security Department.

Larry was nominated Employee of the Month from a co-worker for his Compassion and Courage.

“Not only does Larry help keep our employees and patients safe at night by conducting security checks on all of the buildings he shows caring and support with every patient walking into the emergency department - He offers assistance without a second thought.”

December Employee of the Month

Michelle Shilliday is the SJWS December Employee of the Month!

Michelle has been with SJWS since February, 2002 and is an RN on 4 South Ortho Unit.

Michelle was nominated Employee of the month from a co-worker for her compassion.

“Michelle shows exceptional amounts of compassion for our patient while maintaining the right amount of encouragement to get them up and moving for the greatest results.”

November Employee of the Month

Pam True is the SJWS November Employee of the Month!

Pam has been with SJWS since June, 1991 and is an RN on the Coronary Care Unit.

Pam was nominated Employee of the month from a co-worker for her courage.

”If you know Pam - you know she is very verbal. She has no hesitancy about speaking out on her beliefs. She is a true patient advocate.“

October Employee of the Month

Roberta Jones is the SJWS October Employee of the Month!

Roberta has been with SJWS since June, 1972 and is the Director of Volunteer Services.

The Employee of the Month Committee received over 25 nominations for Roberta! The Volunteers of SJWS are grateful to have Roberta as a Director.

“Roberta has a unique challenge in having to deal with over 250 volunteers with over 250 different personalities and problems. This takes much courage, compassion, diplomacy and juggling – all this is done to perfection.”

September Employee of the Month

Congratulations to Elaine Jones SJWS September Employee of the Month!

Elaine has been with SJWS since March, 2006 and is the Clinical Manager for 3 South.

Elaine was nominated for the Employee of the Month from a co-worker who says that Elaine demonstrates courage.

“Elaine has been called to do many difficult tasks and always displays a courage of conviction to do what is right for SJWS patients.”

August Employee of the Month

Aubrey Cain is the SJWS Employee of the Month for August!

Aubrey has been with SJWS since April 2005 and is the Lead Registrar in the Admitting Department.

Aubrey was nominated for the Employee of the Month from a co-worker who says that Aubrey demonstrates Compassion because “She treats all persons with respect and dignity, responds will to the needs, pains and sufferings of others through concern, empathy and support. She is always there for all of us sincerely.”

July Employee of the Month

Sally January is the SJWS Employee of the Month for July!

Sally has been with SJWS since October 1975 and is the Secretary in the Maintenance Department.

Sally was nominated for the Employee of the Month from a co-worker who says that Sally demonstrates Justice because “she is a great steward of our resources not only in the department but hospital resources in general. She tries to be as fair as possible in delegating work orders.”

June Employee of the Month

Annette Polvere is the SJWS Employee of the Month for June!

Annette has been with SJWS since April 1983 and is an Administrative Secretary at the Renal Dialysis Unit.

Annette was nominated for the Employee of the Month from a co-worker who says that Annette demonstrates Compassion by “always thinking of ways to make the patients feel better. She plays bingo with the patients and makes baskets and gives them gifts (out of her own pocket.) She is also the might behind Harvest for Hunger; with out her I don’t know how so much money would be raised. Annette would give her last cent to the needy.”

Marge Lang

Congratulations to Marge Lang, our May Employee of the Month!

Marge has been with SJWS since 1962 and is a Case Manager in the Quality and Utilization Management Department.

Shelly has been part of the SJWS family since 2001 and she works on 3 North as the Patient Care Facilitator of 3-A.

Diane Duvall

Diane has been part of the SJWS family since 2001 and she works in our mailroom.

Lil Hanrahan

Congratulations to Lil Hanrahan, our February Employee of the Month!

Lil was chosen for SJWS Employee of the month for February. Lil is the Director of Education for SJWS Hospital. She has been in nursing for over 32 years, and was the Clinical Manager of ICU from 1999 - 2004. Since her return to us in 2005, Lil has developed and taught numerous continuing education programs.

Peggy Adams

Peggy works as a Patient Care Associate on our 4South/Ortho Unit. Her co-workers and manager all had wonderful things to say about her commitment to patient satisfaction. Peggy is one of our many dedicated night shift staff member. She works tirelessly while her family is at home sleeping, and then attends to their needs by day! St. John West Shore is grateful to such a reliable and essential member of our team. We thank you, Peggy, for your gift of service to our patients and staff.
