Community Assistance Information

Blood Donation

Working in partnership with LifeShare Community Blood Services, SJMC will host blood drives from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm on Fridays - 2/22, 4/26 (2013) - at SJMC, Building 2, first floor Auditorium B. For information or other locations, visit www.lifeshare.cc or 866.644.Life (5433).

Health Care Access

is a program designed as a resource to access health care services for the uninsured. Program referrals can be made by anyone including community agencies, churches and physician offices. Contact 440-925-0010.

Mobile Medical Care

provides traditional physician house calls (office visits) for the homebound elderly (either at home or in an assisted living facility). Patients must be 65 years of age or older and have traditional Medicare coverage. Continuity of care is provided through regular visits from the physician and nurse on a monthly or bi-monthly schedule. For questions or for more information call 440-617-9029.

Senior Supper Club

Seniors can eat at St. John Medical Center's Terrace View Cafe (cafeteria) for a 40 percent discount. Supper times are seven days a week from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Just be sure to bring your card.

Anyone over the age of 60 can apply for a "Senior Supper Club Card." Simply pick up a card from the Westlake Center for Community Services or North Olmsted Senior Center. Then bring your card to the Terrace View Cafe at St. John Medical Center for a 40 percent discount on all food (except bottled beverages and "Simply to Go" items). There is a $10.00 limit per customer for the discount, after that the items are full price. Free Community Shuttle for St. John Medical Center

This shuttle service is available at no charge for transportation to and from St. John Medical Center for inpatient and outpatient services and discharged patients Monday through Friday from 9:00 am – 5:30 pm. This is available for hospital-based imaging and lab services at our three off-site facilities and those in Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation services as well as PT and OT. Individuals must be ambulatory; no gurneys or wheelchairs. The shuttle service is available for residents in the following communities: Avon, Avon Lake, Bay Village, Fairview Park, Lakewood, North Olmsted, North Ridgeville, Olmsted Falls, Olmsted Township, Rocky River, Sheffield, Sheffield Lake and Westlake. To schedule this service call 216-275-1252 at least 24 hours in advance.

Prescription Drop-Off Box

Do you have old, leftover or expired medications around your house? You can safely dispose of these medications without harming the environment. Prescription Drug Drop Boxes are located at the Bay Village, Fairview Park, Lakewood, North Olmsted, Rocky River and Westlake Police Departments. Any medications with the EXCEPTION of liquids or syringes can be dropped off. Simply blackout your information with permanent marker or remove the labels. This effort helps with the prevention of prescription drug abuse and crime and also helps keep our environment safe. Contact your local police department for more information.
