Monsters Pay a Visit

St. John Medical Center was recently visited by team members of the Lake Erie Monsters who stopped by to spend time with patients and autograph items for hospital employees in the Cafeteria. St. John Medical Center is the "Hospital of Choice" for the Lake Erie Monsters.

Several of the Monsters - Dan DaSilva, Mark McCutcheon, Wes O'Neill, Kenny Roche and Steve Margeson - spent time with patients to encourage speedy recoveries. Play-by-play broadcaster John Michael and mascot Sullivan C. Goal also joined them.

The players visited several areas of the hospital, including the Pediatrics, The Spine & Orthopedic Center, and Coronary Care - Step Down. In addition to interacting with patients, team members listened to their stories as well as shared their own. Many team members encouraged patients to attend a game when they are in better health. The Monsters presented a hat and blanket for every patient.

At the end of rounding with patients, players headed down to the cafeteria to sign autographs for hospital employees. Staff members were encouraged to bring their own family and friends to meet the team and pose for pictures.

All in all, it was a great day for the hospital and demonstrated the community spirit of the Monsters. Go Monsters!
