Occupational Therapy helps to restore function with activities of daily living, from getting in and out of the shower, to the ability to write a check. The Occupational Therapy Program at St. John West Shore Hospital is designed to restore optimum functional living to the client through rehabilitation. Various therapeutic techniques and interventions are utilized to help patients regain their maximum level of independence. Our therapist will carefully assess each patient's functional status and design an individualized treatment plan.
The Occupational Therapy Staff includes a certified hand therapist, a certified work conditioning evaluator and a certified Lymphedema specialist. These are specialized credentials that are not found in every clinic.
Inpatient therapy is located at St. John West Shore Hospital. It is offered in acute care, the skilled nursing unit, and the joint and spine center, which will open this fall.
