Cardiovascular Services

Our experienced staff in this state-of-the-art department uses the most recent diagnostic and surgical techniques to perform cardiac catheterization, as well as procedures such as angioplasty, open-heart surgery and cardiac rehabilitation. Our partners at UH are always looking for ways to improve the technology and treatments for Cardiology.

Cleveland Endovascular Institute

CEI is an integrated, highly specialized center that combines the most advanced diagnosis and treatment techniques for patients with vascular disease. The issues we treat include forms of Aneurysms and Peripheral Artery diseases.


Our department does an excellent job dealing with diagnosing and treating the skin and its assorted diseases and disorders. The physicians use up to date therapies and techniques when treating various dermatology related conditions that patients have.

Diabetes Education Program

The Outpatient Diabetes Education* Program is committed to helping those with diabetes and their families learn to better manage the disease, improving their chances of living healthy, productive lives. Utilizing a team approach our diabetes educators employ the latest teaching tools to enhance the learning experience for those needing basic and more advanced diabetes self-management education. Nationally recognized by the ADA as a provider of high quality diabetes education, the program offers individualized instruction and group classes in one convenient location with flexible hours.

Emergency Department

Our 24-hour Emergency Department offers around-the-clock service for any medical or psychological trauma.


This department provides expertise with the treatment and care for the glands and hormones of the body and their related disorders. St. John’s physicians take care of conditions like diabetes, thyroid disease and pituitary disorders, along with growth disorders and other endocrinology problems that children may have.

Family Practice

Our family practice department offers general medical treatments and diagnosis for entire families. This means we offer care to patients of all ages by providing preventive care, routine and sick visits, and acute and chronic care. We also grant long-standing preventive care that can help with weight, immunizations, behavior, and smoking. Your family will be provided with numerous medical disciplines like specialty care, house calls for seniors, and various forms of counseling.


The seasoned staff in this department deals with disorders affecting the stomach, intestines, and associated organs. Our staff provides all the modern approaches necessary to diagnose and treat your digestive disorders in a personalized manner.

Internal/General Medicine

This department deals with the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of diseases affecting the internal organs of the body, especially in adults. Our staff is highly trained in diagnosing patients with the most ordinary and basic health issues, along with the most intricate and uncommon issues.

Laboratory Services

The Laboratory at St John Medical Center is fully accredited by the College of American Pathologist, Joint Commission and CLIA. We offer a full complement of phlebotomy (blood draw) and laboratory testing.

  • Our location is in the newly remodeled west lobby entrance and our hours of operation are; Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and on Saturdays from 7:00am to 1:00 pm.

When you arrive for testing, you will sign in at the main lobby desk at our automated kiosk. Our Registration Staff will call you into a private area so they can enter your information into our electronic medical record. Then, you will be called to the Phlebotomy (Blood Draw) area for testing. Appointments are not necessary for most routine testing; but please allow 30 minutes to one hour to verify orders, insurance coverage and specimen collection. If your physician asked that you be fasting, then you should have nothing to eat 8-12 hours prior to you blood being drawn (a small glass of water is allowed if you need to take daily medications). Please wear clothing with loose fitting sleeves. Please bring any orders or instructions, insurance information and a photo ID with you. All results will be delivered to your physician within 24 hours for most tests.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy is a medical specialty designed to help people perform everyday activities in daily life – at home, at work and out in the community – whether it’s shopping, enjoying their family and friends, recreational activities, volunteering.

The Occupational Therapy Staff includes a certified hand therapist, a certified work conditioning evaluator and a certified Lymphedema specialist. These are specialized credentials that are not found in every clinic. We also have staff certified in rehabilitation for patients with cancer through the Survivorship Training and Rehab (STAR) Program. Oral Surgery

This department of highly regarded surgeons handles patients who need surgery done on their mouths. This would include surgeries needed to be done on a patient’s teeth, tongue, gums and other soft tissues in the mouth.


This department deals with the prevention or correction of injuries or disorders of the skeletal system and its associated muscles, joints, and ligaments for children and adults. Our highly-trained physicians provide you with top of the line technology and techniques to make sure the correct course of action is taken for whatever your orthopedic issue is. The various things we treat are arthritis, sports injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, scoliosis, hip injuries, and neuromuscular disorders.

Otolaryngology (ear/nose/throat)

This skillful and inventive department diagnoses, treats, and extensively researches diseases of the ear, nose, and throat. We provide high quality approaches and therapies for whatever situation your neck or head may have.

Pediatrics Emergency Services

24/7 pediatric emergency services are provided by board-certified emergency medicine physicians experienced in pediatric emergencies. St. John Medical Center offers a separate pediatric emergency waiting area with kid-friendly décor and activities, as well as expanded child life services, respiratory therapy and family-centered care.

Physical Therapy Services

What is Physical Therapy?

Physical Therapy is a medical specialty designed to evaluate and treat disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The ultimate goal of physical therapy is to restore maximal functional independence to help people perform everyday activities in daily life – at home, at work and out in the community – whether it’s shopping, enjoying their family and friends, recreational activities, volunteering. Physical Therapy promotes the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. Physical Therapists use a variety of therapeutic techniques to accomplish this.

The Physical Therapy Staff includes a board certified neurologic specialist, vestibular specialists, concussion specialists and a spine specialist. All therapists are skilled in spine and joint rehabilitation for both post operative and non-operative patients as well as rehabilitation of neurologically involved patients. We also have staff certified in rehabilitation for patients with cancer through the Survivorship Training and Rehab (STAR) Program. Various surgeries our specialists perform in this department are microsurgeries, breast reconstruction, hair restoration, complete body contouring, and advanced wound care.


This department deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the human foot. With our treatments we help patients increase mobility and decrease pain, whatever improves their lifestyle. We handle problems such as diabetic foot care, foot and ankle surgery, fractures, and sport and skin related issues.


Primary Stroke Center

The center provides a timely response and follows national standards, resulting in superior medical outcomes for stroke care. Our neurologists use innovative techniques and technology to personalize a patient’s recovery process so they can recover in the most effective way.

Pulmonary/Respiratory Therapy

This department provides expert treatment and therapy for patients with respiratory diseases and provides services for patients that need ventilatory support, both invasive and noninvasive. The various lung diseases we treat include asthma, cystic fibrosis, emphysema and interstitial lung diseases.


Where patients need to go for X-rays, CT scans, ultrasound, MRIs, and mammographies.

Speech and Audiology

The Department of Speech and Audiology serves the needs of the individual from initial evaluation through the rehabilitation process, providing speech, language, swallowing and hearing services to people of all ages. The Advanced Wound Care Center at St. John Medical Center

The new Advanced Wound Care Center at St. John Medical Center is now open to patients suffering from chronic, non-healing wounds. Our team of specialists can provide a full assessment and multiple treatment options for a wound that has not healed after eight weeks or has not improved after four weeks.
